At Chavis Health and Wellness, using a functional approach, I help clients feel their best and thrive by addressing the root causes of chronic health issues.
Functional Diagnostic Nutrition considers the whole person and lifestyle factors to find the best approach for balancing your body.
I emphasize the importance of prevention and maintenance of health, offering guidance on diet and lifestyle so clients can feel their very best.
At Chavis Health and Wellness, I don’t diagnose or treat specific conditions; instead, the focus is on healing the whole person. By recommending targeted labs, suggesting lifestyle and diet changes, and offering self-testing options, as an FDN, I guide clients through a personalized 90-day plan with ongoing support. Unlike traditional methods that often include treating symptoms with prescription drugs or surgery, FDN’s look deeper to find healing opportunities and help clients bring their bodies out of a state of chaos and back into balance. FDN’s recommend self-testing to identify stress points and optimize health.
Chavis Health and Wellness promotes health and addresses various health conditions using functional training. I use the acronym H.I.D.D.E.N. to evaluate function in your Hormone, Immune, Digestion, Detoxification, Energy production,
and Neurological systems.
As a health coach, I help clients with the following symptoms and conditions:
Let’s talk about how to get to the root cause of symptoms and begin the journey to your best self.
I’m a mom, wife, sister, and aunt who loves traveling and spending time with loved ones. But my journey to living my “best life” hasn’t been easy. I’ve faced chronic fatigue, Lyme disease, viral meningitis, Epstein Barr, endometriosis, and multiple surgeries, mostly hitting dead ends with traditional treatment options.
After years of navigating my own wellness path, I became passionate about holistic healing and its potential to help others with chronic health challenges achieve results that they did not think were possible. Understanding the struggles of daily life with chronic pain or fatigue – the difficulty of getting out of bed, walking upstairs or just making dinner – motivated me to become a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P).
With this certification and my personal experience, I’m here to help you uncover the root causes of your symptoms and provide the support you need on your healing path. Let’s start this journey together—feel free to book a free 20-minute call to learn more!

I don’t accept insurance. Currently many insurance companies do not recognize natural medicine or alternative healing modalities as billable services. Depending on your HSA/FSA, however, you may be able to use those funds to pay for some of my services including supplements and lab screenings.
Financing is available through Advance Care.
I offer financing through Advance Care credit card.
This depends on the person. We all heal at different rates. However, FDN’s learn that it generally takes one month to heal for every year the person has been sick. So if you’ve been feeling bad for a year, you should theoretically start seeing results in just a couple weeks. If it’s been ten years, then it can take up to a year to fully heal. It also depends on how committed you are in following your protocol and making the recommended lifestyle changes. But again, everyone’s different. The more labs you run, the more healing opportunities could potentially be uncovered. This answer is not a guarantee of what results you will experience.
I run labs to determine levels of function in various body systems: hormones, immune, detoxification, digestion, etc. While these labs are typically different than those provided by a doctor, you are free to submit any previous labs with your intake paperwork.
So many things! While your primary care provider does their job well, their job is different than ours. FDN’s are using cutting-edge lab testing to find areas of dysfunction and then developing precise lab-guided healing protocols to help you achieve optimal health and wellness. I am your personal health detective charged with looking for clues on what’s causing your symptoms. I put a lot of work into your case, but at the end of the day, it’s dependent on how much effort YOU put into following the protocol. More work equals better results! In the end, you are in charge of self-healing and nothing is more empowering! I am here to be your guide and offer accountability.
No. FDN’s are not doctors. We don’t diagnose and we don’t treat. Instead, we help our clients to build health. And we do that by teaching them how to create balance and what will restore lost function. And it is the labs we run that show us where and how much function has been lost. We don’t believe that a diagnosis is necessary if you accurately identify ALL of the healing opportunities in your body and address them accordingly.
Since I operate on a client-centered approach, the client is essentially self-treating which means they are self-ordering labs; I am just ordering on your behalf. Through our medical director program, FDN’s have access to thousands of lab screenings, which is authorized and signed for on our behalf by a licensed healthcare professional with whom we work directly. Direct access lab testing has become much more accessible over the years and this allows individuals to essentially order labs for themselves, with the exception of certain states like New York. Regardless of how the labs are ordered, our well-trained practitioners will help you interpret the test results and use them as a guide in creating a custom healing protocol.
Most of my testing is able to be done at home and I will organize for ‘at home test kits’ (urine, stool, blood ) to be sent to you. All labs are organized by local providers. Lab fees are typically paid at wholesale prices directly to the lab.
Once you have completed your tests and sent them to the lab, I will be notified of your results once available. After receiving your results from the lab, I will arrange a Results and Recommendations appointment to discuss your results and protocol options.
